At the airport, there are taxis to Troncones for a fixed fee of 680 pesos. Go to the "Transportation Desk" immediately after you leave the customs area and tell them that you wish to go to Troncones, pay the fee and take the receipt to a waiting taxi.
The taxi ride to Troncones will be about 35 minutes and is 31 km.(19 miles). Some people find it convenient to stop at the large supermarket, Comercial Mexicana, in Zihuatanejo to pick up groceries. Make sure that you receive agreement from your taxi driver, if you do decide to shop.
You will by-pass Ixtapa, taking the road marked to L. Cardenas. As you are nearing the turn-off to Troncones, you will see a large blue sign for a Catholic Church School on your left (marker 30 km. on the road). Shortly after this point (on a curve), you will turn left. There is a Troncones sign on the highway. The road into Troncones from the highway is 3 km ( 1.8 miles).
You will pass through the village of Troncones. When you reach the dead-end at the ocean, turn right. From this point, Regalo del Mar is exactly 2.0 km (1.2 miles) along the beach road. You are getting near when you drive over a stretch of concrete road in front of a large home on your left.
You will recognize Regalo del Mar by the cluster of palapa roofs and by the red tile road, as you approach.
